- When were you in the exposure zone?
In order to qualify for compensation for your illness or injury, you must be able to prove that you were in the exposure area at some point from Sept. 11, 2001, through May 20, 2002. You may have been a resident of the area, a rescue worker, a clean-up worker, an office worker, or a student.
